Kyle and Lindsay-"Spring" Session!

People, it’s kind-of.. ALMOST…Spring time! It felt so good to go outside and shoot and not feel like your limbs are in need of medical attention! If you book a session before March 31st I am offering 10% off, so feel free to contact me if you are interested! This weekend I shot my good friends Kyle and Lindsay, and this session was long overdue! They looks great together and the sun even came out and made a short appearance, which made me REALLY happy!

Enjoy :) You can tell how in love they are!

The Kerr Boys

Hello all! It’s been ages since my last post, winter is KILLING me! -30 doesn’t motivate many people to trek outside. Anyways, I had a shoot this weekend with fellow photographer Amanda Kerr and her four boys! We opted to try something inside and I think the results are awesome! Very different from what I normally do and I had lots of fun shooting this. Hope you enjoy and make sure to check out Amandas work! http://amanda_kerr.myfotojournal.com/

We snuck in a few shots of just Amanda at the end. Such a stunning momma!

Larissa and Matt-Anniversary!

Some text aligned to the left for Lindsay, hurrah! Anyhow, had a session with Larissa and Matt today and it marked their second anniversary! Since it has been about -30 here with massive amount of snow, we opted to shoot mostly indoors. I am starting to miss summer, no matter how pretty winter can be! Photos to follow, hope you enjoy!

Mrs.L-Boudoir Shoot!

Yes! Finally a Boudoir shoot to post! I did a few sessions this Christmas season as the photos makes AWESOME gifts for the boyfriend or hubby! This is one of the few boudoir shoots I have done since shooting my own with a tripod and self timer—much easier from the other side of the lens I must say. Anyways, she is a beautiful woman and I hope you enjoy :)

Cristina and Tyler

Thankfully this afternoon was a warmer one! Soon after we were done shooting a nice blizzard started…Ohhh Alberta.. Anyways, this is my friend Cristina who came to visit back here in Edmonton since she moved out to Vancouver! I haven’t seen her for a while and it was a nice visit :) She wanted some pictures of her and her dog Tyler, he is a CUTIE and makes me wish we could have a dog! I am also trying out a new processing style which I am in love with! Feel free to comment!

Enjoy!

Now Booking 2011 Weddings

Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you know I am now taking limited booking for the 2011 wedding season. I would also like to share a really good post from fellow wedding photographer Jen Williams about choosing a professional photographer for your big day!

The link is here, I will highlight some of the important parts below!: http://www.jenniferwilliams.com/blog/weddings/vancouver-island-wedding-photographer-advice-to-brides/

From a bride: “I was married on August 14 this past summer, one of the first things I did was look into wedding photographers since it was my first priority. I was getting married in a location I was not too familiar with, so I went with lots of recommendations, the photographer being one of them. During the wedding day I discovered that not only did she not meet my standards of photography but she was extremely disorganized, and not one to take control of the situation. We found the bridesmaids directing the photos, loads of wasted time and much unneeded stress added to the day. When we received the pictures the stress and disorganization showed in every single picture. My husband and I were both so upset about not even having one photo we would love to hang on our wall, the type of photo that just clearly displays the love and emotions we felt that day.”

This is from Jen Williams herself:

I cannot stress enough how important it is to hire a professional photographer for your wedding day.  Your wedding is a big deal. You can’t have ‘do-overs’ for the truly meaningful moments: the look your dad gives you as he walks you down the aisle, the expression on your groom’s face as he sees you for the first time, or the pure joy you share right after your first kiss as husband and wife.

There are a LOT of people with fancy digital cameras and think that because they got the new Canon Rebel they can take on the responsibility of photographing one of the most important days in a couples’ life together.  Amateur photographers have no idea how to lead the day or how to direct the portrait session.  A professional wedding photographer is confident and knows how to set proper exposures in any location and how to find (or create) the most flattering light for your portraits.  Professionals know how to deal with crazy family members and how to get rid of that zit that appeared the night before your wedding.  Most importantly, your wedding photographer knows how to step up and be in charge when you need it most.

So with that in mind I leave you some of my own wedding stuff :) Have a wonderful Xmas and feel free to contact me about wedding package pricing and availablity! You can also check www.sarahmavro.com for more of my wedding work!

This is how we spend Saturdays

Went out today and had a great time shooting with a large group of friends! Trespassing, eyeshadow, and dirty pull out beds were mandatory. We had a fun time, glad there is still no snow! Pictures below with makeup done by Lindsey Bahr, who is also the nicely tatt’ed up girl below :)

Enjoy!
